OK, I am trying again and going through savingsbarn. I am trying for the whole thing first startign bidding at 145 going up to 200 for 4* Mel or NMA and then if that fails will try to split.

Hi all, I am trying to bid on a downtown hotel either in NMA or Loop, preferably 4*. I will need rooms from Sat 9/29 to Wed. 10/3. On priceline I bid as follows, all rejected: 1st: Millen Loop, 4*, $85 2nd rebid added NMA at $90 3rd rebid added midway at $100 I would preferr to not have to move hotels. I know this is a possibility with a split bid but do you think I will have a better chance of getting something around $100 with a split rather than trying for the whole thing? I am attending a business conference on the 1, 2, 3rd and making a weekend of it by coming in Sat. the 29th. The conference hotel (Hilton Chicago on 720 S Mich) has a group rate of $250. I can pretty much pocket half of anything I save under the $250 rate. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Just did two quick bids one for $56 for 4* then added 3* at 58. Probably not the best stratagy but Hilton site is asking 169.

This was on priceline. I just kept closing the browser after the second rebid got rejected and then got back on starting at a higher dollar amount. $80 was the final number.

I went through the bidding sequence you listed and I kept getting rejected saying that I had placed a duplicate request. :) Edit: OK, went back on cause I got tied of playing around and got 4* Westin Michigan ave NMA for $80 2/10.

Do I need to wait the 72 hours before trying again?

Got this on first bid, probably could have got better checking other wins but this was my first time using this site and price line. Pretty happy since Hyatt site was asking $150 for that weekend. Thanks.

I am trying for 4* in chicago, either loop or NMA for Friday Feb 10, one night only. Tried the following: 4* Loop @ $40, no luck Rebid 4* added skokie and increased bid to $43, no luck Rebid added NMA and went to $50, no luck. added midway went to 55, no go. Any suggestions?
