pholt33
There are a few hotels in an area where I would like to stay that have suites. If I bid/win a NYOP with priceline on a regular king/double room, is there any way to upgrade to a suite? Or is it possible to bid on a suite directly? Link to comment
AaronJB
PRICELINE reservations are not eligible for upgrades. Some hotels may allow you to pay an "upgrade" fee or be willing to work something out (and that may vary depending on the day or who you talk to), but there would be absolutely no way to know going in. There is no way to bid on a suite or other amenity directly. The only way to guarantee a suite would be to look for a "Suite" icon on HOTWIRE, although those are "all-suite" properties, they would not be an upgrade. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. pholt33
Thanks for the info. I guess the strategy would be to win a hotel and then call to ask about upgrading and the cost involved. If they wouldnt do that, then no big deal. Link to comment
AaronJB
If you were to win a hotel on PRICELINE that had an upgrade you were interested in, I would call the hotel and politely (because it may depend on who you talk to, and again, the hotel would have the right to say no, as the reservation wouldn't be eligible) ask regarding availability of upgrades. If they say no, then ask if you could pay a reasonable upgrade fee. Hotel policy may lead them to say no, but if it's a slow night and they have the opportunity to upsell you into a more expensive room, you may be able to work something out. Link to comment
