Priceline Hotel: Flamigo Las Vegas thru 'name your price'

Going to Vegas in May and trying to ensure getting The Flamingo. I thought (by doing my homework) I could ensure my hotel through the 'name your own bid' route on Priceline by selecting 3.5 stars in the North srtip only (as this is THE only 3.5 star in that area listed on Priceline).

BUT, then I am hesitant to bid because I recieve this message, in red, on the bidding page:

>>Please note: The hotel we find may or may not be one that you saw on the previous page(s).>>

Is this true?? The only 3.5 star on the strip through Priceline lists The Flamingo and Monte Carlo, but since Monte Carlo isn't in the North strip area, I was thinking it'd be a sure bet to get The Flamingo.

Again, is the warning true??? Is there a chance Priceline would accept my bid and place us at a hotel not listed on their hotel options?

Thanks, in advance, so much for your help with this...

Hello Again,

I just posted a question about ensuring the Flamingo in Vegas, but I am wondering if Treasure Island would be more suitable since we are taking our kids? We were just attracted to the pool at Flamingo, but TI may be a better option.

Anyway, this site has been a wealth of information and I was hoping someone could suggest how to ensure getting the Treasure Island either thru 'Name your bid' Priceline (which, after reading doesn't sound possible, as they will most likely select the Westin for us) or through Hotwire.

Thank you, in advance...

depending on how old your kids are, I wouldn't take them to TI. They are trying to turn it into an adult only playground (as are others). If your kids are smaller, Flamingo is fine with the pool and the wildlife, as is the Excalibur with the midway downstairs. Flamingo is central strip and excalibur probably south strip on HOTWIRE. North strip is up with the Sahara, Circus Circus and Stratosphere. Happy Hunting!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Please keep all posts regarding this trip within this thread.

* The hotels that participate on the retail side may not be the hotels on the bidding side. The list of reported PRICELINE Vegas wins that have been reported are available on this site's Priceline Hotel List for Nevada. There is no way to ensure getting a particular hotel via PRICELINE. If you are trying to seek (or avoid) a particular property, HOTWIRE would be a better choice - Hotwire Hotel List for Nevada - but there is also no way to 100% ensure a particular hotel through that service - both services are opaque, deep discount services.

If you need help, please provide dates of travel, budget per night, desired star rating and zone/s.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Thank you SO much for your input about TI. I'm in a wedding at the Venetian and we're trying to stay near it without paying the high price of the V. Some of my family members are staying at TI, which is why I was inquiring. Otherwise, I'd look towards the South end as it seems there are more, less expensive, options for families.

Based on what I just shared, would the Flamingo still be a good choice if I am most interested in close location to Venetian, lower rate, great pool for kids (ages: 5 and 9)?

I personally think the Flamingo is the best mid level bang for the buck mid-strip.

Typically cheaper than Harrahs (ugh) and overall much better in my opinion. It's not necessarily at the level of Mirage, Paris, but usually much cheaper. More expensive than Imperial Palace, but MUCH better.

Depending on when you are staying, the pool has slides open (call to find out). Check the Travelocity and Expedia rates on that.

The casino does have gals dancing on a couple blackjack tables at nite, but you're not going to be taking the kids to the casino anyway.

Offstrip, the Orleans used to be family friendly, complete with bowling alley. It was okay when I stayed there, but you needed the shuttle or a cab to do anything on the strip.

My two cents.

Searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children reveals a 3.5* central strip hotel for $75/nite (your price may differ slightly) with Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa icons.

This matches both the Flamingo and Ballys, so either of these would be my best guess. Since both of these properties have previously been reported with the same amenity combination, there will be no way to differentiate between the two and ensure the Flamingo.

Also, if you check hotel direct prices, note that the Flamingo charges extra for more than double occupancy (and can be up to $30/person per room), so if you intend to declare your true occupancy, make sure you're comparing your total cost vs. your other options.
