I also had a $75 Hotwire/Hotdollars credit that I needed to use soon, so my total for the 4 nights after all the taxes & fees is $210. Not bad. I will admit I'm a little nervous about the digs though, as I had hoped this would be the Intercontinental & the TA reviews are sketchy.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get the hotel you were looking for, but this still seems like quite a nice deal for the Sheraton. Keep in mind with tripadvisor ratings that many of those posters likely paid more (or much more.)

I've stayed at the Sheraton. It's fine, maybe not quite as nice as the IC, but nothing to worry about.

I've stayed at the Sheraton several times also and it is a nice hotel. It is only a few blocks to the Riverwalk mall and Bourbon street if you are interested in either of those.

The location of the Sheraton is definitely better than the Intercontinental. The actual difference in actual amenities and overall comforts is marginal between the two. If I had to choose between the two I would select the Sheraton. Both are great places to lay your head in NOLA.
