We have not had any reported hotels in this zone with no amenities, so with no clues provided by HOTWIRE, i don't think we'll be able to offer any insight into this one.

Since this is a 5 nite stay you could see if this same hotel appears for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo note in order to 'look behind the curtain' to learn the name of the property. If your'e happy with the results go ahead and pruchase the remaining nites; if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.

I decided to use Priceline for either a 3* or 2.5*.

I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link to make the following bids:

Bid 3* Wilmington $53 failed. Priceline offered me to rebid if I increase my bid by $15, which I did not.

Re-bid 2.5* Wilmington $53 failed.

Re-bid 2.5* Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach for $55 and was upgraded to 3* to Courtyard by Marriott.

Date: November 18 to 23, 2009 (five nights).

Total charges: $324.50 ($275 + $49.50 for taxes and fees).

The hotel website lowest rate with AAA discount is $482.30.

Is it me or is there no Courtyard Marriott in Wrightsville beach ?

If I go to courtyards website and put in Wrightsville beach, I get one of the two.

Neither of which follow into Wrightsville beach zone.

Courtyard Wilmington

151 Van Campen Boulevard

Wilmington,NC 28403

or

Courtyard Carolina Beach

100 Charlotte Avenue

Carolina Beach,NC 28428

Neither of the above are in the Wrightsville Beach zone.

So the courtyard that was won is in the Wilmington zone NOT Wrightsville beach, may want to remove that from the title.

Also the hotel list shows Courtyard.

Correct me if I am wrong and post the address

I have a feeling it's the Courtyard Carolina Beach. Perhaps it is considered in the Wrightsville Beach zone, though they are definitely two different towns.

The address of the Carolina Beach property does not put it in PRICELINE's Wrightsville Beach zone... given that this thread is over a yar old, another possibility is that the Courtyard has a property in the Wrightsville Beach zone but that it has since changed hands or is no longer flying the Courtyard flag.

It's not clear from the post so i've asked the OP of this thread to follow-up and clarify the address and zone.

I bided for $53 for only the Wilmington zone and 2.5* and failed. I re-bid 2.5* Wilmington zone and added Wrightsville Beach zone for $55. I was successful and got Courtyard by Marriott in Wilmington. Since Courtyard by Marriott is 3*, it was an upgrade from 2.5*. It was the Courtyard Wilmington at 151 Van Campen Boulevard, Wilmington,NC 28403

I guess its safe to say you won a hotel in the Wilmington zone and not Wrightsville Beach. They fact that you raised your price won the hotel not adding Wrightsville beach zone. You where just required to add a zone to rebid.

The Courtyard Wilmington at 151 Van Campen Boulevard, Wilmington,NC 28403 falls withing the Willmington Zone.
