CANTraveller
Hi, I am new to better bidding and would like to book the Intercontinental Hotel (444 St Charles Avenue) in New Orleans from Thursday, Oct 29th to Monday Nov 2nd. From other threads I understand that if I bid for a 4* hotel in the Downtown area on PRICELINE chances are I will get this hotel. How much should I be bidding? Thanks for your help! Link to comment
yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding :) You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE. You need to be willing to stay at any 4* or higher in the zone you're bidding at. Are you ok with this?If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there.Yellowdog. CANTraveller
Hi, For me, being able to make an educated guess as to what property I'll be getting is more important than cost. So I guess HOTWIRE would be the best choice. I see a 4* Downtown New Orleans hotel for the dates I want to book is $79 per night. What are the chances of that being the Intercontinental? Thanks! indywaiter
There is a really good chance its the intercontinentail. If its not the intercontinental it is probably the Hilton directly across the street. Link to comment
