kjtravel
I've been trying for weekend of August 28 - 30 (2 rooms) in Amherst at 3.5 stars and am up to $85 with bid being rejected. Any tips? I don't want to go higher - should I wait a few days and try again? I see a bid for this weekend has been accepted at $65. Link to comment
michellezz
I think your chance of getting a good price is lower because you're bidding for 2 rooms, and for both Friday and Saturday, which are usually harder to get. Have you considered other areas nearby? Also see if you can use any tips offered by this forum, like combining different locations and star levels. Good luck. Link to comment
thereuare
If $85 is your limit then i would continue to bid that amount every day.Do note that HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel in the Downtown zone for $90/nite if you're willing to go just a bit higher. If you continue to bid and are unsuccessful, what is your gameplan... book something direct, cancel the trip, raise your maximum bid, or lower your star rating? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. kjtravel
Thanks for the comments - if we can't get this hotel in the next few days, we will lower the star rating to 3 stars, still trying for the Amehrst area. If that fails, we will have to book direct. I'll keep bidding each day and see what happens. Link to comment

kjtravel
Started bidding at $68 on 3.5* hotel - added bids in $5 increments while adding zones - bid was accepted at $83 for 2 rooms. And yes, I used the PRICELINE links on the site!Question - it gave me chance to extend reservation - if that shows up does it mean it will definitely be extended at that price if you accept, or do they search again and tell you if price is avaialble?
