rscima
Holiday Inn Parkway East (considered 2 1/2 * by Priceline)Number of Nights: 2Price per night: $38Taxes & Fees: $10.42Total paid including priceline processing fee: $92.37Booked on 4/24/03Original bid was accepted. After finding this wonderful sight, I'm thinking I probably paid too much. I did go on the Holiday Inn website & lowest available was like $82/nt. I feel like I got an o.k. deal but not great. I understand the "free re-bidding" concept now & will definitely use it when looking for a room in Hershey PA. How cool! I was a little disappointed to get a Holiday Inn on 2 1/2* with priceline. I think Holiday Inn belongs in their 2* group with Quality Inn & Ramada. I previously bid 2 1/2 star with Priceline in Tampa & Jacksonville & both times received Amerisuites which I loved. Oh well, can't complain for the price I guess. Would someone like to help me with the tax thing-figuring out what PL paid for my room? I have read the post about it over & over & it just doesn't click in my head! lol If the tax on this room was say 9%, then PL paid $115 for the room? That can't be right?! Link to comment
thereuare
I think you got the math right but the tax rate wrong... taxes here are 14%.So nitely taxes of $10.42 / .14 = $74.43 (for 2 nites)Therefore Priceline's cost is roughly $37.xxI agree about generally thinking that Holiday Inns should be 2*, but in case you don't know, there is not a standard star rating across a brand. So although this Holiday Inn may be 2.5*, another Holiday Inn in another city may be 2* (or 3* for that matter). We too are glad you found this site... welcome to the board! :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
