slick_gd
I'm going to Boston for 5 nights, 9/3/09-9/8/09, and initially bid for the full 5 nights up to $59 in either Copley Square or Quincy Market (using Fenway and North Cambridge as free re-bids). When that didn't work I decided to split the stay and ended up winning the Courtyard Tremont on my first bid for the first 2 nights of my stay. I honestly didn't expect to win it at that price or else I would have tried starting a couple dollars lower, but still a great price.Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $55.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 2Room Subtotal: $110.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $22.18 (USD)Total Room Cost: $132.18 (USD)Works out to about $145-150CAD. Going rate for the hotel on it's site is $179USD+tax, so over 65% savings! The best prices I have seen for any hotel in the area on those dates is $129USD+tax, which is still a saving of 50%.The hotel doesn't get the best reviews, but the location is excellent. And, really, how bad can a Courtyard be?I tried bidding up to $65 for the other 3 nights (9/5/09-9/8/09) with no luck, yet. The prices are probably higher due to the long weekend. Will post my winning bid when it happens. And, yes, I used the PRICELINE link. Link to comment
