downtownbrown88
New to the board and excited to see a very recent bid for $145 at the Sheraton Maui in September through PRICELINE. I am hoping for the exact same result for the week before and need some advice! I am scared to get the Whaler, but I'm OK with Westin, Sheraton or Hyatt. Any advice?? Link to comment

thereuare
Unfortunately there is no way to target, or eliminate, a specific hotel when bidding on PRICELINE... you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the minimum star level that you selected. The Whaler hasn't been reported to the board since early 2007, so chances are probably low, but we have seen hotels disappear for a period of time and then suddenly re-appear again. If you're not willing to accept the above risk, then HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can often take an edcuated guess as to the property you may be receiving based upon the amenities shown (and sometimes even figure out what it's not, for instance if a hotel you're trying to avoid doesn't offer a pool, you can 'safely' purchase the HOTWIRE hotel knowing that you wont' receive the property you're trying to avoid :) )Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
