I have a prob:

I selected 2 adults when I booked through HOTWIRE... because when I added 2 children I didn't see the hotel.

So today I've made a call to the Wynn to ask if I could add 2 children to my reservation, the lady on the phone said that would be $100 per night extra!

That's ridiciulus in my opinion!

I've asked if I could have two Double bed in the rooms, and that was possible, so I have two beds.

Is it an option that I check-in with two persons and when I'm in my room, I call the other two people and tell them where the room is and they come to the room....

I'd just have one adult/one child go the desk to check-in while the other adult/child combination wonder around someplace else in the lobby (fortunately Vegas hotels are big).. then meet up and go up to the room together (or go up to the room, then come back down to meet up and return with the other two.

You may need to show a room key to pass a guard by the elevators so the 'second' adult/child combo may not be able to make it up on their own, so i'd make plans to meet them somewhere rather than expect them to make it up to the room on their own with just a room number (and no key)

Thank you for your answer.

In Vegas al people in the room get a key isn't it?

So one adult/child wait some where in the lobby, I check-in with a child, we ask for two keys, we give one to the person that's waiting in the lobby, we go upstairs and after five minutes or so they also go upstairs?

You can even meet up and go up together... i just dont' think it would work if the person with two keys goes up to the room and expects the other to meet them up there, as the second adult won't have a key to show security to get to the elevators.

Nobody will question it, but if somebody did, you can easily say that the other adult/child are friends of yours who happen to be in Vegas during the same time and they're going up to your room with you. :)

One more thing...

All 5 rooms were king beds as we wanted them all on the same floor (6th). 1 room had 3 people and they brought a roll-a-way bed to them (no additional charge).

So maybe you could just ask for a room with 2 queens and have them bring a roll-a-way. :)

What type of upgrade are you looking for?

If it's as simply as a high floor/strip view then you may be successful just asking for it, but $20 would likely go a long way in improving your odds.

Well the nicest thing off course would be a Suite with Strip View with 2 Double/Queen/King beds...

Maybe I can ask for a room number and they can give me the type that I want...

Do you have any suggest for a Suite or something...?

When we checked in last Friday, the counter person offered a higher floor and view of the waterfall for $25 extra per night. We had 5 rooms booked, so I didn't want to try the $20 trick.. :)
Why didn't you want to try the $20 trick?

I've booked two rooms, but I stil can try the $20 trick, isn't it?

I will ask for two queens and a roll-a-way bed, maybe I ask when I'm already in my room and not a check-in... so they don't charge me anything.

Availability is a major, but not only, component as to whether you'll be successful with the $20 trick or not. So if the mon-wes that you're visiting has low occupancy then that increases your chances, if there happens to be high occupancy for these dates then that lowers your chances, but others factors including mood and seniority level of the front desk clerk, supervisors working that shift, etc, all play a factor as well.

According to the cab drivers I talked to last weekend, its been super slow this year. Friday and Saturday were quite busy but Sunday was quite noticeably slower in terms of people in the hotels and on the street. Those guys would know the most about visitor levels.

On Sunday night, the casino floor (Wynn) was pretty dead compared to the night before. I was surprised since Monday was a hoilday. I thought more people would have stayed a day longer but a lot checked out on Sunday. The strip was actually driveable at 2 AM, which wasn't the case on Saturday night.

With a Mon-Wed stay, I would think the whole town would be very slow and your chances of using the $20 trick to be much better.

What's the "$20 trick??" Are we talking slipping the guy a 20 at check in?
