BOS Boston Minivan Alamo

I used the HOTWIRE link here yesterday to get a rental car (minivan) at Boston Logan Airport from 6/7/09-6/13/09. The rates were the cheapest I could find anywhere. I was hoping to get a better deal by bidding for a car at PRICELINE (again using the links here) but for several days my offers (always lower than the Hotwire price) were rejected. Since our departure date is approaching. I didn't want to run the risk of Hotwire's price going up even more. The price I paid ($38.95/day) was more than what it was a week ago - am not sure if it would have gone back down to $34.95/day as it gets closer to June.

Anyway, the rental agency turned out to be Alamo. The (opaque) total purchase price at Hotwire was $372.26. I checked the Priceline (non-opaque), Orbitz and Travelocity sites and the Alamo rates there showed a total of $610 (incl. tax and fees) for the same time period.

We have been pleased with our car rental experiences through Hotwire in the past. Hopefully this trip will be no exception. :-) Will let you know.
