Congratulations on your success!

Looks like your more than pleased with the results! It can be risky lowering your star rating and increasing your bid at the same time as you did (as explained HERE), but fortunately you were upgraded to the 4* hotel :)

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.

Enjoy your stay.

One Tidbit about Santa Cruz, California Hotels

If you want the Hilton in Santa Cruz, it is a 3 Star Hotel for some reason. I checked the 3 1/2 Star and the 3 Star average price and it was actually higher than the 4 Star average price. The 4 Star average price was about $189.00 and the 3 1/2 Star and 3 Star average price was about $229.00 or so. Therefore I was actually okay with staying at a 3 star hotel since the only 3 that I saw on Priceline were:

Santa Cruz Dream Inn

Toll House - A Larkspur Hotel

Hilton Santa Cruz / Scotts Valley

The ratings on these three were quite high, therefore whether it was a 4 star or a 3 star would not have really mattered. I'm still curious as to why the 3 star hotels were more expensive than the 4 star hotels.... probably the location... Anyways, I'm happy with the results!!

Thank you again thereuare for the advice!!
