debkaps
I had to work fast to book a room in Beverly Hills or Hollywood before catching a cruise ship (this was the Friday before my Monday check-in date). I quickly scanned the hotel list and then read a so-so review on the Montrose Suites that people seem to be booking for under $100. In an effort to get a room elsewhere, I bid $101 for a 4* in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood and got the Thompson Hotel. Of course, I used the PRICELINE link on this site to bid--I wouldn't forget that! :)I will also add a review, but for those looking, here is my quick take on the Thompson Hotel. The rooms are sexy shiek with black wood floors and comfortable beds with soft white linens, Kheils shampoo and conditioner in the room (SOOO nice!), it's blocks to Rodeo Drive and the BH shopping area, the beds are comfortable, the food is great (yes expensive, but at least it's delicious for what you pay!). The staff is all very beautiful, but I found them all to be very nice, genuine, helpful and attentive...no snooty people on staff, like I half expected. They allowed me to check in at 9am, long before the 2pm check-in time too. The biggest bonus was the AMAZINGLY zen roof deck and pool. Perfect temperture pool, nice breeze on a hot day. Drinks a-flowin'. Cabanas with flat screens for rent (if that's your scene!), plenty of cushioned and pre-towel-tucked chaises. The quiet trance music drowned out any trace of busy Wilshire Blvd. below. This is just what mama needed!!! Super place for R & R. My last day, Vogue was doing a shoot by the pool and there was going to be a movie shot there Friday evening. How Hollywood! :)Thompson Beverly Hills9360 Wilshire BoulevardBeverly Hills, CA 90212310-273-1400Check-In: Monday, April 20, 2009-02:00 PMCheck-Out: Tuesday, April 21, 2009-12:00 PMRoom Cost (avg. per room, per night): $101.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 1Room Subtotal: $101.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $22.40 (USD)Total Room Cost: $123.40 (USD)Thanks to everyone who posted their wins and helped me book this stay fast!
