digizen
Not seeing a lot of activity for Maui - mostly posting for Waikiki. Seems like there's more competition there, so cheaper prices.Nevertheless, I'd like to ask for help in bidding on PL for a hotel in Maui. Something 2 or 2 1/2 star, in any zone except Kahului. What should I start at, and can I find a deal for under $70 for a 2 1/2 star? (Seems doubtful, looking at the HW prices)Oh I'm looking for 5 nts in October, starting from 10/8 through 10/23...Thanks in advance. Link to comment

digizen
Sorry for the confusion. I'm looking for 6 nts, probably in the 2 star range now, but the start date is flexible since I haven't bought airline tix yet. Check-in date can probably be any of the dates between 10/16 through 10/25. Link to comment
thereuare
Since you have time before this stay, i would start as follows. You have no re-bid zones, but you do have 3 zones that you can bid (i'm labeling them ZoneA, ZoneB, and ZoneC in order to save on typing).Select ZoneA and bid $50.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select ZoneB and bid $50.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select ZoneC and bid $50.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select ZoneA and ZoneB and bid $55.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select ZoneA and ZoneC and bid $55.If rejected close browser and re-access Priceline however you did previously.Select ZoneB and ZoneC and bid $55.If rejected add ZoneA and bid $60.I would try the above for all date combinations you are considering (write them down so that you know what you have already bid, and don't 'jump around' with random dates as you'll start to get 'duplicate bid' submissions and you'll be at a total loss as to how to correct them). If everything is rejected, repeat in 72 hours, raising each bid amount by $5, going thru all possible date scenarios. If that too is rejected, repeat again in 72 hours increasing each bid by another $5. This will take you up to your $70 limit in a one week period of time.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. digizen
I'm back! Great trip overall - very impressed with Maui as this was our first time there. Here is the HOTEL REVIEW. The hotel was worth the price based only on its location and not the room. For this area it's definitely a competitive rate. Link to comment
