sockminkey
My wife and I are going to Seattle this weekend and I'm trying to identify this hotel.March 20 - 22, 2009Downtown - Pike Place 3.5*Currently showing $73 ntAmenities:Smoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)High-speed Internet AccessIf there's a link to Tripadvisor ratings, I don't see it. Thanks!Sock Link to comment
davidgmg
based on the HOTWIRE hotel list its only choice would be the Crown Plaza dowtown. Thats a great hotel and good location, but pariking is about $40 a nite so be forewarned. The other 3.5 stars show laundry which you didnt' indicate, so I believe this is the one. Link to comment
sockminkey
Thanks for the tip on the parking cost. Yikes! There's a difference in amenities between the Hotwire listing and the betterbidding hotel list entry for the Crown Plaza. Is that normal? Sock Link to comment
inspiration100
Time out there. Hope I'm not too late...I don't believe this is the Crown Plaza as I know Crown Plaza doesn't have a pool. Fits a little closer to Silver Cloud Inn Stadium but... to my knowledge, every hotel downtown is smoke free (Seattle law) so I am not 100% sure. I am however believing it's not the Crown Plaza because of the pool. I think your looking at one of the two Silver Cloud Inns (Stadium would be my first guess), which is located across the street from Safeco Field. Maybe the owner can give his opinion here.My guess is Silver Cloud Inn Stadium. Hotwire has recently been dropping some amenities. Last I heard parking was $23 here. The Seattle hotel guy.... sockminkey
Thanks for weighing in on this mystery. I would hope the owner would give his opinion, but for whatever reason, he passed this post over. I'm sure he's super busy responding to all the various Help/ID requests in the other sections. So, I double checked the amenities, and yes, this is what they are, copy and pasted from Hotwire:Smoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)High-speed Internet AccessI would prefer one of the Silver Cloud properties, but it's still not clear from the betterbidding Hotwire hotel list that that's what this is.Anyone else got an idea?Sock Link to comment
thereuare
I didn't pass this post over, this is the first i'm reading it, the way we answer posts is chronologically but in some circumestances a post can get pushed back a little in the queue. (i'm currently about 6 hours behind "live" as the lost post as the time i clicked this lnk was 6:11pm EST)My best guess is the Silver Cloud Inn Stadium...On some searches for some properties HOTWIRE as been 'dropping' one or more amenities from the icon combnination and my guess is that is what is happening above. If you change your search criteria to 2adults/2chidren you'll see a "different" 3.5* property offered in this zone, also for $73/nite, with:Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, LaundryThis 2adult/2chidren property is a match for the Silver Cloud Inn Stadium so that would be my best guess. Given the same exact price, i'm guessing that this is the same property offered in your original post. However, i can't be certain of this, and since the price is the same, if you're interested in this property i would re-run your search as 2adults/2children, and assuming the 'full' amenities are shown as per above, would make the purchase that way.If this information has been helpful to you it would be appreciated if you used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to being your purhases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. inspiration100
Well that makes two of us that know the area believe it's Silver Cloud. I think you a probably going to get that. I didn't want to ruin your vacation without another confirmation from someone else though :) . Having stayed in both hotels though, I do prefer the Crown Plaza since you can get a decent view on the 30th floor... but the Silver Cloud is decent as well. It's far south of downtown though, quite a walk! Since I'm a local, I don't have to pay for parking since I bus to Seattle. The Seattle hotel guy.... Stayed in 14 hotels downtown and counting! Silver Cloud is brand new and while not quite as central as the CP is still a great location. Link to comment
tilepusher
The set of amenities in your original search is actually a match for the Renaissance in Hotwire's vacation packages. If you'd prefer one of the Silver Cloud hotels, you should take thereuare's advice and book as 2 adults/2 children if the "different" property is still available. Link to comment
sockminkey
I haven't booked yet, but because others might find this thread useful, I did the Hotwire search for 2 adults and 2 children and can confirm thereuare's findings. There's a 3.5* property offered for the same price as my original search (2 adults) but with a bigger amenity list. And with that expanded amenity list, it now conforms most closely to the Silver Cloud Inn Stadium. Very interesting. Thanks everyone for all the help. I'll let you know what I end up with, and of course, I'll go through the betterbidding PRICELINE or HOTWIRE link.Sock Link to comment

sockminkey
After trying to ID a 3.5* hotel in Seattle Downtown - Pike Place, I decided, since we have our own car, to go for a 3* in Lake Union South guessing that this would be the Silver Cloud Inn, which it was. This particular Silver Cloud offers breakfast and free parking which makes it a pretty good deal for Seattle.Booked today (3/17/2009) on HOTWIRE via the betterbidding link in thereuare's sig:Seattle - Lake Union South - 3* HotelSilver Cloud Inn - Lake Union SouthAmenities: no smoking, pool, high-speed internet access, breakfast, business center, fitness center, laundryCheck in 3/20/2009Check out 3/22/3009$88/night (about $103/night after taxes and fees)Sock Link to comment
