Tried bidding $60, $65, $70 and $75 for a 4* in Palo Alto/Mountain View, all failed. I then added Sunnyvale (which has a 4*) and it got accepted for $80. Probably got screwed in Sunnyvale. :)

Palo Alto/Mountain View is consistently a more expensive zone than Sunnyvale/Santa Clara. You can often win a 4* in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara in the $50's or $60's; sometimes even the $40's.

When you decided that Sunnyvale/Santa Clara was also an acceptable zone, after you'd bid to $75 in Palo Alto, you could have closed your browser, reaccessed Priceline and started a new bid of $45 or $50 for a 4* in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara zone alone. Then you could have added additional zones and bid up, as you did in your Palo Alto series.

I'm not saying this to be critical, but rather to help you in your future bidding. The Hyatt is $179 and $219 for your dates, so $80 is an excellent deal...less than half price. Enjoy!
