I am flying from northwest Arkansas (XNA) to NYC on April 23 and returning April 28. I am trying to use the name your own price on priceline. regular priceline price w/ tax and fees is 337, I have bid up to 250 still without a win is this typical or am i just trying to bid to early or what. I need help with strategy on this airfare stuff. Thank you in advance.

BIG savings on "name your own price" airfare is far and few between... at least in the current economic environment we don't typically see the savings in airfare as we do with, although it's worth trying as sometimes you can catch a good deal.

What is the breakdown of the above fare between base ticket price and taxes/fees?

How much would you need to save to make an opaque purchase (where you don't know the flight schedule, route, or length of layover) worthwhile?
