scrooge
Happy Holidays,You've always given good advice in the past -- so I thought I'd come back.I haven't bid on anything in Chicago in a while and it looks like things have changed. Would you mind giving me a strategy for bidding on a 4* in the Magnificent Mile area for one night (12/29 - 12/30)? It looks like Millenium Park area just south is going for 59 - 70 during that time. I'm hoping for something under 80 bucks, but my wife prefers the Mag-Mile.As an aside, she likes Boutiques too, but it looks like those rules have changed. In addition to my above question, to you have any advice on locking in a boutique for the same date? If it's too risky, I'll just go for the 4*I'll use the betterbidding PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links of course. Thanks,Scrooge Link to comment
thereuare
There is no longer a Boutique star rating in the PRICELINE classification, this rating has been removed (a good decision in my opinion) and these hotels have all been reclassified based upon their merrits as to how they fit into the star rating system. Additionally, a 3.5* rating has been added. If i'm understanding you correctly, you'd like to first bid for the Mag Mile zone (only... not including the Millenium Park zone at this point) up to a maximum bid of $80?If this is correct...At the 4* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Mag Mile...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. AaronJB
I'd recommend checking out Fox and Obel Cafe and Market (fox-obel.com) - great breakfast/lunch/dinner place just about a block and a half East of the hotel - its on the corner at Illinois and McClurg. Link to comment
