eug2020
My wife and I will be in Vegas from Jan 28 to Feb 4 /09. I wanted to book something (5*) before going through the bidding process (and cancel later if I get what I want). I used the "LasVegaschecker" and got the Bellagio for $129 per night for 7 nights. I am thinking I should jsut keep this and not even bother trying to improve... any thoughts? $129 for a 5* with weekends includes seems pretty good. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Whether you stick with the Bellagio or try for a better rate thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE depends upon a few factors, the most important (imo) being how you feel about the Trump International which is an option at the 5* level in Vegas. While reports indicate it's a very nice hotel, it is also located slightly off-strip and doesn't have a casino (two aspects which some people don't like)How much would you need to save per nite vs. the $129 rate to still be happy if you landed the Trump? For some they might be happy with the Trump if they saved $5 per nite... others (who are looking to casino hop and/or gamble into the wee hours of the nite) wouldn't be happy unless they saved $50+/nite... some wouldn't be happy at any price.Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. bbbb
I like the Palazo and Venetian my self as I find the Bellagio a little stuffy for my likes. I would try a $80 bid for one of these hotels. We have not seen the Trump accept a bid @ less then $100 yet. Remember the Trump could still come up if they lowered their PRICELINE rate but this could be your first Las Vegas bet. :) Link to comment
Writer
Yeah, the possibility of Trump makes it really hard to bid on 5*s now. Just like the Westin is making it difficult to bet on 4*s. PRICELINE is really making it difficult by adding non-strip casinos to their strip zones. Link to comment

While i'm sure this is a direct result if the tough times the Vegas hotel market is experience, I'm glad to see this property participating and hopefully will continue to do so once the economy rebounds.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Have a great time in Vegas.
