Priceline Hotel: 4* San Francisco (Embarcadero) Hyatt Regency

Take note that this is a one-day stay on *New Year's Eve.*

Two weeks ago, there were 4-star hotels were under $150 on Hotwire, but not anymore! So, I went to Priceline and got this just in time before everything filled up. Bidding strategy (please tell me if I could've done it better):

$100 for 4-star and up at Union Sq East

$105 for 3 1/2 star and up at Union Sq East

$105 for 3 1/2 star and up at Union Sq East, Union Sq West/Nob Hill

$110 for 3 1/2 star and up at Union Sq East, Union Sq West/Nob Hill, SOMA

$115 for 3 1/2 star and up at Union Sq East, Union Sq West/Nob Hill, SOMA, Financial/Embarcadero -- BINGO

Judging by your bid history alone, I think you did great for New Year's Eve in San Francisco. Obviously, this is an "off" year as evidenced by your success at the Hyatt Regency. What's interesting is this hotel usually throws an elaborate New Year's Eve ball annually, however a co-worker of mine said just today she couldn't find any information on it for this year. It's definitely slow this year as rack rates at places like the Marriott, Hilton and Parc 55 are currently below $200 for New Year's Eve.
