azdunn
This desert dweller really needs a weekend at the beach (Huntington or Newport). The Hyatt Huntington looks really inviting - but retail is oh so pricey. Looking for suggestions, tips, and realistic insight on how to successfully bid for this hotel or one of similiar quality/location. Any suggestions and tips on how to secure a weekend stay would be truly appreciated. Would like to try and go sometime in the next few weeks. Link to comment

azdunn
Ideally we would like to go sometime in the next 3 weeks over the weekend. Because we are flexible, we're hoping to use the advise from this board to obtain the best possible pricing outcome. As far as a budget - that's hard to say. I suppose if push comes to shove we'd go as high as $150 a night - but that's really part of the question. What is a realistic bid strategy for this hotel over a summer weekend? What can we expect to pay? What should our bid strategy be? Any advise would be appreciated! Link to comment
thereuare
This is the strategy i would follow (which could land you any 4* hotel in the zone, not targeting the Hyatt Huntington):You have six RE-BID ZONES available at the 4* level. If you're unsure of which zones are our re-bid zone or don't understand re-bidding please ask for help or confirm your zones before bidding.Select your prefered weekend and...4* Newport - Huntington BeachBid $48 if rejected, add re-bid zone and...Bid $52 if rejected, add re-bid zone and...Bid $58 if rejected, add re-bid zone and...Bid $62 if rejected, add re-bid zone and...Bid $66 if rejected, add re-bid zone and...Bid $70 if rejected, add re-bid zone and...Bid $75.If the above is rejected pick the next weekend and repeat the process until you have no more available weekends to choose.Feel free to ask any questions that you may have.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. azepine00
Try 8/6-8 at $70 if you want huntington. I don't think it comes up below $69 so if you start yout bidding low you are going to end up with Newporter (if it's available of course). Good luckBTW this should probably be moved to orange county forum. Link to comment
thereuare
I'll also add that if you start bidding at $70 and the Huntington isn't available, but the Newporter is, you'll receive the Newporter and have overbid for it.
