thereuare
Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List.As star ratings are a bit more 'generous' in Europe than in the US, it's usually recommended to stick with the higher rated hotels when traveling abroad. Even with this noted, i would try contacting HOTWIRE regarding this purchase, the reviews are 'poor enough' to warrant an inquiry (imo) and have them re-consider the star rating for this property... of course this is assuming you'd prefer not to stay here and have another option within your budget. Thanks for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase. If you do pursue anything with HOTWIRE let us know the outcome.Enjoy your stay. eaglelip
Thanks for the Hotwire info. I'll follow up with them and report back.FYI, Queens Park Hotel is listed as a 2.5 star hotel in the Kensington region. I checked the hotel's site, and the hotel is located outside the current Hotwire Kensington region, so it is no longer on Hotwire, or at least in that region. Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks... looks like the Queens Park is now in the (Notting Hill - Bayswater) zone and we've updated the Hotwire Hotel List accordingly.Let us know if you make any headway with HOTWIREGood luck. eaglelip
From Hotwire:Thank you for the feedback you provided about Ambassadors Hotel. Customer feedback helps us ensure our properties continue to meet the high quality standards we expect from all of our partners. After receiving your feedback, we re-evaluated the Ambassadors Hotel and are confident the 2.5-star rating accurately reflects the service level, accommodations and facilities of this property.Considering the price per night...I'll tough it out! thereuare
I assume you sent HOTWIRE the link to the reviews? If you do encounter any problems at the hotel, speak wtih hotel management first to see if they can fix the problems, if not, do call HOTWIRE once you're at the property as they're more inclined to help you out if you've at least given the hotel a try.Good luck... please let us know your opinion upon your return. eaglelip
After sending the link to TripAdvisor, Hotwire responded:It is our policy not to place great weight on customer reviews located on third party Web sites (and this includes our sister company Trip Advisor). We find that such reviews tend to be biased toward negative experiences and are often out of date. We ignore any review that is morethan six months old, because conditions at any hotel can change very quickly. We feel our policy of soliciting feedback from every Hotwire customer provides a more-balanced view of our hotel partners. Link to comment
blindman
Although the reviews don't look good :) you have to weigh up how much these people paid for the roomIf it was the going rate of about $120 then they would be right to complain! At your price, you may not be so picky about certain 'problems'Please report back and write a review so others can weigh up the pros and cons of this hotel at this price. If you have never been to London before there is good info in the Wikki Link to comment
eaglelip
I just returned from my stay at this 'hotel'. I've written a short review, but I'm not sure how to add it to the Hotwire list of hotels. Link to comment

eaglelip
A follow-up to my complaint to Hotwire:After my stay, I let Hotwire know that I stood by my assertion that this was a budget/1-star hotel at best. After a few days, I received an email with a credit of 50 'HotDollars' to use on a future booking (value of $50). Link to comment
