belgo
I would be willing to pay up to $130 for a 4*, or $100 for a 3*. Any zone except Batignoles-Montmartre-Republique, La Defense, and probably Bastille, would be OK. Priceline lists Champs-Elysees as the best deal, so that seems nice, but other zones would be OK. :) Link to comment
thereuare
Can you please list the zones that you will accpet (rather than the ones you won't)... it avoids confusion, as well as clarifies matters in case the zones are re-zoned between now and the time you bid.As well, did you want to try for a 4* first up to your limit and then, if rejected try for a 3*... or did you want to try for a 3* up to $100 and switch to a 4* if you're going to be paying $100+?Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. belgo
In order of preference: (6) Opera East/Les Halles, (3) Champs Elysees, (7) St. Germain, (4) Eiffel Tower. Yes, I'll try 4* up to $130, then switch to 3* if unsuccessful. Link to comment
bacai
I Priceline lists Champs-Elysees as the best deal, so that seems nice, but other zones would be OK. :)avoid Champs-Elysees 4*, it is Concorde La Fayette. Read on tripadvisor before you bid. 161 reviews <50% give 4* or higher & they are underconstruction 9sep/2008)http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews..._de_France.html Link to comment
belgo
Very well, we'll stick with 4* for the other zones, then if it doesn't work out, go with 3* for all four of the zones. Link to comment
belgo
We ended up getting the Paris Pullman Rive Gauche for $130 (4*), after being turned down at that rate for the Opera and the St. Germain areas. It's not exactly in the center of town but seems to be a decent place... The best deal I could find on this hotel was $205/night, so about 1/3 off. Not my best success ever, but not the worst either.Just for the record, I did use the PRICELINE link from this site, of course. :) Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your win!Looks like a nice deal... glad to hear that this should work well for your needs. I know many don't consider the area around the Eiffel Tower to be very central, but we found ourselves in this area a LOT during our trip a year or so ago.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
