dirtymartinii
I followed the strategy (below) and expected something in downtown seattle but I got downtown Everett. I hope the hotel is nice and no parking fee.Day 1 tried and failed.Day 2 $50/3* Downtown$55/3* Downtown + Everett$60/3* Downtown + Everett + North Everett$58/2.5* Downtown + Everett + North Everetttypically, Holiday inn $99 / night. :) Link to comment
tilepusher
It looks like we have a new hotel -- and new star level -- to add to the North Everett zone. And a rebid zone for 2.5* bids bites the dust. :) The hotel looks nice from the outside and the Tripadvisor reviews are good, but it's a fairly long way from downtown Seattle. This is why it's important to check your rebid zones every time you bid: the maximum star level available in a given zone can change at any time, and you can find yourself getting a hotel room in an area you didn't want. Unfortunately, too many people learn this lesson the hard way.One other tip for future bids: if you decide to lower the star level in the course of bidding, you should exit the current bid and start a new one. This allows you to reuse any previously used rebid zones. For example in this case, you could have bid for 2.5* DT Seattle, then added Everett as a rebid zone. If your last bid had been rejected, these options would not have been available to you (unless you waited 24 hours). Link to comment
Colfax
If the North Everett location just won't work you might call Priceline's Customer Service and ask (beg) for a chance to bid again Downtown. Say you made a mistake. Sometimes they'll give a "one time exception". The worst they can do is say no. But you'll probably have to bid higher than $60 to get something Downtown, and pay parking.
