GatorChelle
I've come across a 4* star hotel for my dates of May 17-21 in Punta Cana but the 4* ID differs slightly from the previous Dreams Resort identification. Here is the list of amenities:ResortSuiteBeachfrontCasinoFood and Beverages IncludedA La Carte DiningEvening Entertainment IncludedDaily Activities IncludedComplimentary BreakfastChildren's Activity ProgramFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesIt sounds like Hotwire has added an additional 4* resort to its Punta Cana hotels... Anyone have any info or advice? Thanks in advance!! Link to comment

GatorChelle
Just wanted to share my win on the Melia Caribe Tropical Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Dates are May 17- May 21 for $154/night. Priceline was offering the lowest rate of $189/night and the Melia Caribe website was offering $220/night. Overall with taxes it came to $730 for 4 nights ALL-INCLUSIVE at a super nice resort! Thanks so much better bidding... I used the PRICELINE link! :) Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your win.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List. Can you confirm that that you bid the "East Coast" zone on PRICELINE?Does your winning bid confirmation screen state that this is all-inclusive (does the hotel offer any 'room only' thru their website or is only all-inclusive) as PRICELINE doesn't typically offer all-inclusive properties thru "name your own price" (only thru the vacation product or thru the 'retail' product... but mabye this is something new or an exception to the rule)Thank you for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. GatorChelle
On my confirmation page under IMPORTANT HOTEL CHECK-IN DETAILS it says the following:Congratulations, your offer has been booked at an All Inclusive hotel. This means that, in addition to your room accommodations, your hotel rate includes meals and beverages, resort activities and entertainment, and gratuities. Please contact your confirmed hotel for additional details regarding your reservation.I think the Melia Caribe Tropical only offers All Inclusive options for its rooms. So maybe Priceline has changed their policy for some of their hotels in the DR. Either way, I'm a happy camper! And yes, it was for the RESORT class in the East Coast. This region is the only one under Priceline where RESORT is applicable... So I re-bid a number of region combinations until my price was finally accepted. Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for the info... could be something new, or perhaps happens so infrequently, that we just haven't seen it before; but nice to know this 'bonus' is possible!Enjoy your stay. RobG
Wow, great deal. It appears Melia does not offer European plans (no meals), so you win!I'm looking for Punta Cana hotels in July, and will be keeping this win in mind.Cheers Link to comment
