HI , looking to stay in Williamsburg Historic District 2.5*

dates mar 25-29

2.5* hotel rates from Hotel Checker

=======================

$219 Residence Inn Williamsburg

$149 Hampton Inn Stes Williamsburg

$149 Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott,

$140 Country Inn And Suites Williamsburg

$105 Four Points By Sheraton Williamsburg Historic District

At what rate should I rate start bidding in priceline ?

If the price advantage is not pretty big, I would stay in the historic park.

The least expensive lodging in the park is $109 and not 2.5*.

thanks Mark

bid $45 & $50, rejected

probably due to Easter break. I am now feeling more flexible on location & star level.

Does the outlet zone have a history of being less expensive or more rooms available?

I'd be willing to stay there if the room was $10 less.

I'd also be willing to bid on a 2*. Any guideline on how much less a 2* may be than a 2.5* ? So what I am asking is, next time when I bid $55 for a 2.5* in the historic zone , & if rejected, at what rate would u recommend bidding for a 2* star in the same zone?

thanks mark

Hotels.com & Expedia show no availability for the friday night

regular priceline shows availability at 149

Travelocity shows availability at 149

Orbitz shows availability at 154

I am concerned by the friday no availability at Hotels.com & Expedia. Is this because the airline travel reservation's systems (sabre etc) are loaded with different information ? What precautions do you recommend in advance if I show up & there are no rooms or if I am stuck with a terrible room ?

What obligation is priceline under if there are no rooms ?

thanks mark

Congratulations on your success.

True availability is only obtained thru the hotel's own website, and the Fairfield Inn site is showing availability for the stay above (as well as the Friday nite if trying to book that nite individually).

In the rare instance that you are 'walked', the hotel should send you to a nearby hotel of similar or better quality and pay for cab fare there. As well, you shouldn't have to pay for that nite (at either hotel), but that is something you can deal with priceline upon your return.

Thank you for sharing your win and for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.

Enjoy your stay.
