earlthepearlferrell
It seems like people are scapling rooms in Phoenix just like they are scalping tickets for the game. If I am fortunate enough to secure tickets, what are the odds that priceline has any rooms left at any star levels? I know most hotels have booked up, but at the same time, Phoenix is a large city. Would priceline have access to any of the rooms or is this one of those special occasions when PL is no help and receives no inventory? Link to comment
slruud
If Hotwire is any indication, rooms are going to be hard to come by. They just have a 3* hotel in central Phoenix, going for $413. Good luck. Link to comment
aikanae
Ouch. Suddenly rooms on Craig's List don't sound as bad (even though the rooms might be). Link to comment
bbbb
You could always stay two hours away in tucson? Link to comment
earlthepearlferrell
Tucson or Sedona might be the way to go... Then again, just getting tickets is a long shot. They want about $3000 for a $700 ticket on that. Suddenly that $400+ hotel room would not be the worst cost of the trip! Link to comment
earlthepearlferrell
I'm headed to the Super Bowl with my father and brother. Ticket prices dropped a bit, but still expensive...After bidding unsuccessfully on resorts to $300 and unsuccessfully on 3 stars near the airport, Tempe, and Scottsdale to $250, I decided to go for the Scottsdale 4 star. I placed Mesa (no 4 stars) in with Scottsdale to avoid duplicate bidding.Scottsdale 4 star $275...Rejectedadded North Phoenix (already rejected at 300) for 300...ACCEPTED!Orange Tree Golf Resort, Scottsdale$300/night (retail 600)2/2/08-2/4/08 (2 nights)All-suite non-smoking hotel with pull out sofa a bonus. jeffri
Nice win, given the craziness of Super Bowl weekend. Orange Tree is a decent property in a good location. Obviously, $300 is insane, but it sure beats staying in Tucson! Link to comment
earlthepearlferrell
$300 was insane...but it beat the nonrefundable $600/night that the Orange Tree was charging on their website. Link to comment
