ladnick
Hi Yellowdog,For a 4 * my budget is $125 and for a 5 * its $145.I was thinking about staying in Strip North zone ... evn strip south is ok as well but no Westin.TIA for all your helpRegardsNick Link to comment
thereuare
If you're not able to accept the Westin then you're not able to bid the South Strip zone.I'm guessing that you're budget may be a bit tough only bidding the North zone, but i'd begin as follows:At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (NOTE: Summerlin is NOT one of them)Select 4* North Strip...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* North Strip and re-bid zone2..Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $110Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. ladnick
HI,Things changed a bit since I posted last time. Now we are open to both the South or North of the strip (I am also open to Westin Hotel). Could some one help figure out what should be the bidding strategy? My budget is still about $150 for 2 nights for a 4 or 5 star hotel.I am also a bit confused about the zones as I dont see "Nellis - Las Vegas Speedway"?Thanks for all your helpRegards Link to comment

thereuare
HOTWIRE is currently offering a 4* hotel in the Central Strip zone (Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Interent, Business, Spa) for $119/nite. This property is a match for Planet Hollywood and that would be our best guess. This is a 4* hotel, whithin your budget, and will ensure that you avoid the Westin (which you previously didn't want).Would you prefer to take this from HOTWIRE or do you still want to bid and take your chances that you don't receive the Westin? If you still want to bid, do you want to reduce your maximum bid to $120 or so as to no go higher than this HOTWIRE offering? If you go with the above please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know your thoughts and/or how it goes or how you'd like to proceed. ladnick
HiI see that Planet Hollywood is showing $79 for first night (01/17) diretly from the PH web site.I actually am OK with staying at westin if I get it.Can you try to provide the strategy for bidding for this specific date and 4* for strip North or south ?Thanks for all your helpRegards Link to comment
thereuare
I see that Planet Hollywood is showing $79 for first night (01/17) diretly from the PH web site. And it is $209 for the second nite of your stay, still making the above cheaper than booking direct. If you search HOTWIRE for just the first nite and this hotel still it appears, it won't be the $119 quote above, it would be much cheaper... the $119 is the average for the two nite, with 'internally' the first nite being much cheaper than the second nite. Can you try to provide the strategy for bidding for this specific date and 4* for strip North or south ?Do you want to lower your maximum bid from $150, given the $119 offer above? ladnick
Hi I was thinking more like $150 for 2 nights ($75 for each night) Also if it makes sense to split up the booking into 2 (each night booked seperately) may be thats the way to go.Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
If you don't mind changing hotels during the course of your stay then SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID is probably a good idea for a Thur-Sat stay. However, your chances of a 4* hotel for a Friday nite in Vegas at $75 or less are very low... especially since some hotels require a stay-thru for the entire weekend when checking-in on a Saturday.Let us know how you'd like to proceed. thereuare
To add to the above..HOTWIRE has a 3.5* in the Center Strip zone for $87/nite for the Friday nite. So there is a chance you could get a 4* hotel for Thursday and this 3.5* hotel for Friday, and be under $150 for the 2 nite stay. There is also a 3.5* in the Center Strip (may be same hotel, i didn't write down the amenities the first time) for your two nite stay which is just $70, within your budget of $75/nite... which may be worth it if you'd rather not change hotels during your stay and budget is more important than the desire for a "4 star" hotel. thereuare
Let's start with the nite of 1/17...At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones. (NOTE: Summerlin is not a re-bid zone)Select 4* South Strip...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* North Strip...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* South Strip and North Strip...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. No goSecond bid South strip + rebid zone 1 at $60 - No goThird bid South strip + rebid zone 2 at $65 - Got itEndd up with Monte CarloNot really excited as I was thinking I would get PH but I guess a 4* is a 4* Thanks for all your help Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your win!For a two nite stay, one of which is a Friday nite, $65 is pretty good, imo.Since there is a large price increase on Friday nite, i suspect that the rate at Planet Hollywood increased substantially, and probably wan't a possibility for $65 when bidding the two nites together. Thanks for sharing your win with the board and for using the PRICELINE links at SavingsBarn.com to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
