Priceline Hotel: Need help with Pttsburgh hotel for 8/13

Hi All,

I'm new to the board but not new to Priceline.

I may be going to Pittsburgh, PA next Monday, 8/13 for one night.

I need help not so much with price, but with vicinity. I want to be in walking distance of PNC park to see the ballgame.

I saw the downtown map and it is a pretty large area.

Can anyone suggest a star level (and an approximate price) and vicinity to ensure that I'm in fairly reasonably walking distance of the ballpark. I figured that the hotel would allow me to park for free and then I won't have to pay for parking at the Park

Well my plans might not be firm until Sunday night. You see my brother has tickets to see San Fran play the Pirates for a doubleheader on Monday night. The only reason we want to go is if Bonds has not broken the HR record by then. If he breaks the record this week, I won't bother going to Pittsburgh.

But I would like some help in planning in case I need to get a quick hotel deal on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Well he broke it.

But if you are still considering going, see my post below for the same dates for a 4*. All downtown hotels are within walking distance to PNC. There's also a very clean, quick, short distance subway downtown.
