kmsk
I wanted to bid on priceline for Niantic-Norwich-Mystic (Mystic) area, hoping to either get Hilton, Hyatt Place or Residence Inn.Priceline doesn't list this as a category. What happened? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! They have sub-divided the zone into smaller areas... do you know which area you'd like to stay? What is your maximum bid? What is your minimum star rating? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
ufauxreal
We stay in Mystic a lot... have a stay coming up the end of the month... and I just checked Priceline... there is no subcategory for Mystic! I even checked two sets of dates, thinking maybe the first set was sold out. It shows Mystic on the map, but it's not included in the list of towns at all. None of the other areas include Mystic in their maps either.Ooops! I went back for a second look. They have now lumped Mystic in the Ledyard/Mashantucket area.JB Link to comment
kmsk
My max bid is $100 (I haven't made any bids yet), but I want to stay right in Mystic. Since it appears that priceline has expanded the area, I'm not sure if it's a possibility anymore. I'm looking for a 3* or better. Based on the hotel lists in the priceline thread, that used to mean the Hilton, but with the expanded area, who knows? Link to comment
thereuare
What are the date(s) of your stay?HOTWIRE has a "mystic" zone... what about the boundaries there? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
kmsk
Aug 16 and 17. I have been looking into the hotwire option - they don't have any 3*s in mystic, only 2.5*s for $150. A 2.5* may be ok, but I'm not sure which hotels hotwire uses that are 2.5* in mystic. Still hemming and hawing about it. Link to comment
thereuare
Perhaps the Days Inn (at worst) or Holiday Inn Express (at best)... both are just guesses. The Days Inn is only about $110/nite on their website, the Holiday Inn Express is just a few dollars more directly thru their website. Please use the Holiday Inn Express link in this thread if you go thate route... or our HOTWIRE link if you book thru their servcie.Let us know whatever you ultimately decide to do. kmsk
I booked through hotwire for $149pn for the Holiday Inn Express. Prices on Holiday Inn's website started at $169. Not a great savings, but I got a good location. Link to comment

kmsk
I wasn't able to confirm the amenities because I didn't set up a hotwire account to save my info. I do remember that they listed a free breakfast and a pool. Link to comment

tlcrnicu
It might help you to know that there REALLY is no such town as Mystic!!! Depending on which side of the bridge you are on (that seperates downtown Mystic with the Mystic River) you are either in the town of Groton, or the town of Stonington. Most of the hotels that are closest to downtown and the Aquarium and Seaport are on the Stonington side. The Marriot, the Hilton, Howard Johnsons, and a slew of other properties are right near Olde Mystic Village (NOT downtown Mystic). Most everything on the Groton side is much farther away, and is not in the village area at all. Good luck and have fun! Link to comment
kmsk
Our stay was nice. The hotel is not downtown, but it directly across the street from Olde Mystick Village and very close to the aquarium. Breakfast was OK, very loud. There were lots of families staying here. The pool is small but great for kids to splash around in. The hotel does NOT offer shuttle to the casinos. Many of the other area hotels do. Link to comment
