Has Anyone tried this on Hotwire?

I am looking at a hotel for Aug 24-26th. If I put in 24th-25th it is $92, if I put in 25th-26th it is $82, but if I put in 24th-26th it is $92.

Has anyone booked one night (the cheaper one), then phoned the hotel saying 'Oh I just realized I need a 2nd night, can you honor the rate?'.

Do you think it would work?

i have to agree...we have even done this while in the hotel.always the same answer NO

I did get a "yes" once.

It was from a boutique hotel, so maybe they had some flexibility.

Of course, they offered it only after telling me that the room was only available at the regular rate, which was about double the Hotwire rate. An hour later, they called up and offered it at the Hotwire rate. Unfortunately for both them and me, in that hour I made another Hotwire booking for another hotel. (Their hotel was not on the Hotwire list...)

So the rule: "You can always ask...but expect a no..."

I realize I misread your post. In my case, I was already there, had booked for one night, and the hotel was not showing up on the Hotwire listing.

they can't add another night for the same rate, b/c there rates change based on availability, so you would have to make a new booking thru Hotwire or the hotel, but if you do it thru hotwire it may be a different hotel, you would have to match up the same area, star rating, and amenities, and then you may be able to get into the same hotel but not guaranteed until its booked, also what do you mean it did now show up in hotwire listing? they dont show the names of the hotels anyways?

I'm sure they meant based upon star rating, zone, and amenities.
