forress
Just came back from a 2 night stay. Paid $90/night on Priceline for a 3* hotel in the downtown area, neither was this hotel a 3* hotel nor was it in downtown Vancouver. I would avoid bidding for a 3* hotel on PL just so I don't end up here. I would pay more to stay in a 2* hotel. This hotel is due for a major renovation like Cambie Street outside. The rooms are very outdated, cheap beds, ancient thermostat with manual/ancient A/C unit, cheap lighting, tiny elevators, tight corridors, and hot/humid hallways due to no central air.If you have a car, you'll drive 20 mins to reach downtown. If you're walking, good luck. Also if you have a car, do not park in their $20 per day parking lot. There are plenty of meter parking 1 or 2 blocks away from the hotel that allows you to park for free after 8 or 9 pm. Granted you move your car or pay the meter before 8 or 9 am the next morning.Pro:Only stayed 2 nightsThe White Spot and Safeway supermarket across the streetProximity to Cambie Street & Broadway w/Plenty of shops and restaurantsCons:Overpriced parking2 elevators for a 18 floor hotelOld roomsSmall bathroomCheap bedsOld A/C unitNo central A/CAnd Nowhere near downtown Link to comment
