so, i tried an intial bid of $75 for a 4* in convention center for 10/12-10/17. i am going to try upping my bid to $80 in a couple days but wanted some help with the strategy to avoid having to wait again.

Can I simply rebid with a 1* if my new bid is rejected (since none exist in that zone?) or should I rebid with a 4* but add another area with no 4* (can't remember them right now).

The White House-Convention Center zone does have 1 star hotels... want to add zones that only contain hotels which are rated less than 4 stars, using techniques discussed in Priceline Re-Bidding Explained (not by using our hotel lists)

You have 3 such re-bid zones available when bidding 4* in Washington DC... feel free to confirm them with the board before proceeding and/or ask any questions you may have.

If you'd like a suggested bidding strategy, let us know if this is the only zone you're willing to accept and your maximum bid and we'll advise accordingly.

It may be a bit early also to bid for October stays on Priceline. It doesn't hurt to try, but I've had the best success with less than 30 days advance notice, even when I bid the same prices weeks earlier and get repeatedly rejected. I think for DC through there is quite a bit of activity in October through (thinking 1st monday in Oct for Supreme Court).
