I was inspired by the other poster who got La Quinta Resort for $60 a night. Even tho I followed the same bidding strategy I didn't win my bid earlier this week.

A few days later I did the same bidding strategy but increased my last bid to $64. Not sure why I chose that number, but it worked! I'm very excited since last year we stayed here and paid ALOT more than $64 night!! I will cross my fingers that we don't get charged the resort fee.

Just returned from La Quinta... they also charged us the $25 resort fee. I guess they have wised up. It was 109 degrees there, but we had a great relaxing time.

I was there the same night as you ... and got charged the resort fee also :)

Still a great stay ... pools were 85 degrees .... half the resort is closed during the slow summer months ... at check-in they told us all the spa villas were not available.

... still waiting to see if I get some erroneous minibar charges like last time.
