nilkaya
My cousin and her husband are planning to visit me in Charlottesville VA. They found cheap tickets from Stockholm Sweden to New York NY. What would be the cheapest way for them to travel from New York to Washington DC, Richmond VA, or Charlottesville Va.? I can pick them up from any of these cities. I checked one of the car rental companies for one way and it was approximately $190 to Charlottesville without any insurance coverage. Link to comment
WillTravel
Perhaps the so-called "Chinatown buses" from NYC to Washington, DC. Greyhound is sometimes not that much more.Amtrak would also be a possibility, but I don't know the cost. Link to comment
TravelGuy
The "Chinatown Bus" would definitely be the cheapest way, at least a little less than Greyhound. I took it for the first time from New York to Washington recently and thought it was great. The bus I was on was spotlessly clean, quite comfortable, and the time went by very quickly, thanks in part to the movies shown on board. Link to comment
thereuare
Agree with the others on the Chinatown busses... CHEAP!Due to the Chinatown bus competition, PeterPan/Greyhound now does it for about $40/RT if there is a 7 day advance purchase and may have a more frequent schedule: PeterPan/Greyhound Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
nilkaya
Thank you all. I couldn't believe how cheap the Chinatown buses were. :) Link to comment
