larry6905
9/2/06 - 9/4/06 $129 night Hotwire gave us a 2.5* as a 3*. The hotel was just like all other Country Inns. The service was horrible - rooms not cleaned, no towels, coffee, shampoo, soap, etc. Complained staff too busy surfing internet to care. We found storage room and got own towels. The rooms were just like every other Country Inn. How can they do this? We felt scammed. I have written them but have not received a reply as of yet. There was none of the 3* qualities.Country Inn and Suites By Carlson DestinAmenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Laundry Facilities, Golf NearbyLocation: Destin, FloridaHotel Rooms:1 room $124.00 per night 2 night(s) SubTotal:$248.00 TaxesAndFees:$29.33Hotel Total 2 Days:$277.33Below is from their own URLValue 2.5-Star HotelsExamples: Holiday Inn Express, AmeriSuites, Country Inn & Suites, plus other top brands and quality hotels.* These limited-service establishments offer more than the basic level of accommodations and are ideally suited for the value-conscious traveler.* Additional features may include on-site dining, a residential look and feel in the lobby, larger-sized guestrooms, and a fitness or business center.* Guestrooms are comfortably appointed and may offer a few extras, such as additional space or a dedicated desk or work area.* These properties are usually located within walking distance of shopping or dining facilities.Midscale 3-Star HotelsExamples: Doubletree, Radisson, Holiday Inn, plus other top brands and quality hotels.* These midscale establishments place a greater emphasis on style, comfort and personalized service than hotels with lower star ratings.* These full-service properties usually feature traditional lobby decor, baggage assistance, on-site dining, room service and a gift shop.* Additional onsite amenities -- such as a business center or fitness center -- may also be available. ufjoe21
good ol' hotwire and their inflated star ratingsyou might be able to win this one with priceline because, $129 is way too much for most 4* hotels through Name Your Own Price franklybut Priceline is always prepared to fight if you dispute the charges Link to comment
larry6905
Hotwire gave me $50 credit I had to use in 24 hrs. Put it towards an overnight to B'ham, AL. Better than nothing! Link to comment
