ihqazi
I am going to DC just for a day for rally over at Lafayette Park beside the white house and wanted a hotel within walking distance to it. Thought maybe try to get the Capitol Hilton for 75 but no luck, got this new 2.5* hotel. Seems that the properties are moderately booked with vacationers and maybe the protest going on there on top of perhaps a busy Friday night. This was my bidding process.Started the bid for 75 for 4* White House-Downtown - rejectedRebid at $75 with Springfield Zone added - rejectedRebid at $78 with Crystal City Zone added - rejectedRebid at $80with Alexandria - Old Town Zone added - rejectedThought maybe try for the 2.5* courtyard or residence innStarted the bid for 58 for 2.5* White House-Downtown got the raise $17 and free rebid option, which i rejected(73 seemed a bit much for a 2.5 star)Started again with 4* at 78 and added 3* in White House-Downtown - rejectedThis gave me nothing, so added 2.5* and lowered the bid price to 65 - rejectedAdded 2* and raised to $68 and then won the 2.5* Four Points Sheraton Washington (upgrade from 2*)Saved about $25 from the online rates which will go to pay for the parking. Not the best deal I got from Priceline, but probably best I could do for the busy season and needing this particular area.
