byeloe
HiYou are never guaranteed a particular hotel, only a quality level and zone location. So if you must stay at the Marriott then you might not want to use priceline, since there are at least 2 possibilities for a 3* in downtown Link to comment
thereuare
You may also want to give this thread a read:I've Never Used Priceline or HotwireFrom your post it sounds as if you might consider other hotels in this area, but not anywhere outside of this area, is that correct? clovergirl
Hi there,Yes, I am willing to take my chances getting a hotel other than the Marriot Rennaissance, but just not anything outside of the Downtown zone. I realize that it is not guaranteed to get a particular hotel, although looking at the Hotel list on this site for Detroit, it looks like the 3* options are either the Marriot Ren. or the Omni. I could live with the Omni, it's just that I have a seminar at the Marriot. In any case, as long as it's downtown, I could at least take a cab. However, looking at previous posts, it looked like 3* bids in downtown seemed to end up with only the Marriot Ren. or the Omni...so I figured it was likely to be low risk that I would end up with any other hotel. Any strategy suggestions welcome for a 3* in that zone. :) Link to comment
AmericaWestCMH
The hotel lists on here are certainly not complete, so be careful. TOBB also lists the Hotel Ponchartrain and Hotel St. Regis (not bookable??) as possible 3* PL properties downtown. FWIW, Orbitz has a special on the Ponchartrain for $84/night + tax (15% off for 3 nights or more, regular rate $99). Link to comment
thereuare
You only have one bonafied re-bid zone at the 3* level... are you using some other zone as a re-bid zone. What is your maximum bid... we wouldn't want to suggest a strategy that went higher than you wanted to bid.
