nd88
This is getting really old! The girl at the desk greets me by name every Monday evening and wishes me a good weekend on Thursday night. If the other guests only knew how much they are overpaying! Mums the word of course. Link to comment
headtrip
I thought the era of $twenty-something hotel stays in the US were history. You proved me wrong. I don't think I have paid under $30 a night for a hotel room since I paid $29 in Marble Falls, TX during one of the worst tornado systems I ever saw in February of 1989.Now, if I could ever find some reason to go to Jacksonville...hehehe Link to comment
dahammer
Now, if I could ever find some reason to go to Jacksonville...seeing nd88's posts, I was wondering the same thing....are there any beaches nearby? Link to comment

homeschoolmom
In a little while, you could go watch the Jaguars. The mascot Jaxon de Ville (sp.?) is a riot!! Then, you could go check out the World Golf Hall of Fame/ Village in St. Augustine (an hour, prob. less, away depending on traffic). The Renaissance there is fairly new and has been going for ca. $60 on PL. If you're not into golf, you could always check out the Bill Murray-owned restaurant, IMAX theater, and the 2 big outlet malls or the Spanish Castillo de San Marcos/ old town. The Anastasia Island State Park in St. Aug. has a fantastic beach and new bathhouse/ snack bar. Good grief... I sound like I'm working for the tourist bureau!!! :) Link to comment
powerplantop
Jacksonville, has a very wide range of food choices. Getting my Kalbi fix is not a problem, the Sam Won Garden Restaurant on University Blvd is the place. I have a Navy buddy who lives in Jacksonville. I took him to the place and he even commented on how every thing tasted like he remembered. Link to comment
