Hotwire Hotel: 4* New Orleans (Downtown) W New Orleans

Well, the Hyatt by the Dome is still closed from Katrina damage, so the farthest away you are likely to be is one of the Canal St hotels like the Sheraton or JW. Those are still pretty good walks to the CC, especailly if your meeting is in one of the halls on the South end of the building. Maybe 10-15 minutes.

Of course, cabs are plentiful and cheap. If you have to spend $6-7 each way from hotel to meeting and back, that brings your nightly cost to $86, which is still likely a lot lower than a direct booking at a nearby 4* would be.

It is believed that this is the W New Orleans, which has previously been seen with these amenities but at the 4.5* level... it is speculated that it has been downgraded to 4*, although nobody has reported yet as such so no evidence of this.

This is a match (very common amenities) for both the Inter-Continental and the Sheraton so our best guess would be eihter of these. One Customer Favorite review mentions the hotel being right on Canal, so that would make the Sheraton a more likely outcome/guess.

verifcation that the 4 star with rest, bar, internet, pool, business and golf in downtown area on oct 22-26 is indeed the W. got it for $75 a night. with a major conference in town that week...it's nice to know i didn't have to pay the "discounted conference price" of $149-212 at other hotels.

question about hotwire. i booked the room for 2 adults. is there a way to ensure i get two beds in the room? can i simply ask at check in, or should i have put down 4 adults to ensure?
