4 star bidding is no longer available in the Oakland/East Bay (Lafayette-Concord) zone with Priceline downgrading the Renaissance Club Sport to 3.5 stars. (Note: The 4* Lafayette Park Hotel hasn't been reported in several years).

Personally, this is a very disappointing move as I frequently used this hotel via Priceline to house guests as it's right up the street from my condo. It is a very highly-rated hotel, as evidenced by the 4.5 Tripadvisor rating and is a definite cut above the 3.5 Concord Hilton and Crowne Plaza.

Thanks for the update... did you figure this out from the hotel offerings OR did you see this property listed as a 5* in the vacation packages? If the latter, do you recall the dates you were searching for to make this property appear?

Thanks.

Like Priceline, will Hotwire show ratings changes if you access a previous purchase when it was a lower rating?

The (former) Holiday Inn Select Lakeside is now Doubletree Cleveland Downtown Lakeside. I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms a few months ago--quite nice. Very urbane decor: I remember a lot of dark gray and burgundy. Looked more like a "W" Hotel room than a Doubletree...but you still get a warm chocolate chip cookie upon arrival.

They are building some fancy condos and townhouses nearby--"The Avenue District"--so the neighborhood lodgings needed to go more upscale as well.
