Suluta
Hello, I'd like to have a 3* in downtown tampa. I can get the Hyatt Regency for $135 w/taxes as a back up, so I'd like to get these rooms for significantly less then that if possible, preferably under $100 per night. What makes this a little difficult is that I need 3 rooms from 5-4-06 to 5-7-06, and 1 room 5-5 to 5-7. If the price is low enough, I'd probably eat the extra night for the fourth room if necessary to get them in the same hotel. I have not tried bidding at all yet. From your Hotel List, I see that I have 3 zones to work with, Downtown (where I want), Brandon (only a 2.5 star), and East-Fairgrounds (again, only a 2.5 star). What would you suggest?Thank you in advance. Suluta
Hello, I followed up the on the Vegas thread. Thanks again for your help. Link to comment
thereuare
From your Hotel List, I see that I have 3 zones to work with....Also from the Hotel List:DO NOT USE THIS LIST to determine what areas to add when attempting to bid again within the 24 hour windowYou do have two re-bid zones available, but it's not the two you mentioned. Read thru Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and use this technique to determine your re-bid zones:The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process. It is important to do this before EACH attempt at adding a zone that you really don't want, as new hotels can be added and the star ratings can change at any time.Confirm your re-bid zones with the board and we'll then suggest a strategy from there. Also, how low is "low enough" that you would bid for all four rooms together and eat the cost of the empty room for one nite? (as this will likely determine your maximum bid on the first round of bidding) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Suluta
Ok, using the method you described, I can use Brandon and Tampa North, since they are currenlty only showing 2.5 stars as their highest rated hotels. $100 per night would be acceptable to "eat" the extra nite. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
With two re-bid zones i would bid as follows:Select 3* Downtown...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $60, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. If rejected wait 24 hours...Select 3* Downtown...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $75, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. If rejected wait 24 hours...Select 3* Downtown...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $100.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
