Priceline Hotel: hotel advise 23-25 june 2020

I'm visiting New York for the first time on 23/24 June (2 nights) so I would appreciate some advise on where to stay. My budget is ~ $240 including taxes and fees per night. Do hotels in June generally come down in price closer to the date or is availablity likely to be very tight  and I would be better booking sooner than later?

I'm happy to use bidding or express deal. I'd probably value a better room over a superb location but as I am only vising for a couple of days somewhere to easily access transport would be good.

It's never easy to know with any high degree of certainty if it's better to book now or if rates will come down closer to check-in date.  The push that would imply higher rates is that this is peak season in NYC... the pull that might suggest lower rates is that travel is currently slowing on account of coronavirus.

I think you can find the best of both worlds with this offer from Hotwire:

4.5* HOTWIRE Rockefeller Center for $175
Smoke-free rooms
Fitness center
Restaurant(s)
Business center
Internet access
Accessible for visually impaired
Accessible for hearing impaired
Accessible path of travel
In-room accessibility
==> Warwick New York

This is a well reviewed hotel with a location just north of Times Square.  This makes it very easy to walk to Times Square without having the crowds of Times Square itself right outside your hotel door each time you leave/enter the building.  As well, there are multiple subway stations and lines within a few block walk in any direction that can easily take you just about anywhere in the city you want to go.

We currently have a Hotwire Coupon that takes 7% off which brings this to $245/nite on an all-in basis, just $5 over your target budget.

This is a 'clear winner' in my option vs. the other offers (from both PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE)... there are other hotels that are acceptable that can save you $20/nite, but relatively speaking in think the Warwick is worth the extra $20 as it should give you everything you're seeking.

Does this one work for your needs?
