Hotwire Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (North Strip - Fashion Show Mall) Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me getting a good hotel for the following trip details

Dates: May 15-17 (2 nights)

Star: 4*+

Rate: I would like to keep it to less than $150 per night, I am okay to go a little higher for a really good hotel.

Location: There will be 4 people on my trip - my wife and I are traveling with my parents. My parents are old and wouldn't want to walk around a lot. I am trying to get as close as possible to the sights on the strip like the Bellagio Fountains and the Venetian. So, something walkable to those things would be nice.

Amenities: We would not require a kitchen/kitchenette, laundry or room service. Not sure what the other options here are. It would be great if there was a breakfast buffet. Looking online I see most hotels do not have the breakfast buffet included and that is okay. Hopefully it's below $30/person.

Please let me know if you need more information and can help me. Also, please let me know if getting a room at this rate is impossible and whether I should go for a lower star rating.

Few things to clarify in order to get started...

Are you looking for one room for the four of you or two separate rooms?

You're not going to find any 'on-strip' hotels that have a free breakfast (if that is what you were referring to).  Almost all casino hotels on the strip have buffets, but they are not included in the room rate and are additional.  Using a ballpark number breakfast is usually about $8-12/per person, lunch $14-$22/per person, dinner really depends upon what is offer and can be anywhere from $14-$45 (the higher end having things like shrimp, crab legs, etc.)

First and foremost let us know regarding the occupancy (1room/4guests vs. 2rooms/2guests each) and we'll be able to take it from there.

Few things to keep in mind:

-in Vegas many hotels charge extra for rooms with 2 Queen beds (vs. 1King) so as far as 'room only' cost you may not save that much (or anything) if you're including 4adults in your search (which also presents an issue for using PRICELINE since they only guarantee double occupancy)

-most hotels charge resort fees that range from $40-$55/nite so that could be a factor when considering 2 rooms vs. 1 room since your resort fees are going to double (although see the Linq option mentioned below)

So these are your best options, imo, along with our best guess for each:

Searching 1room/4adults:

5* HOTWIRE Center Strip - Grand Canal Shoppes for $92
Free parking
Free internet
Resort
Suite
Casino
Fitness center
Pool(s)
Restaurant(s)
Business center
==> Palazzo... all-in (after taxes, resort fees, etc, etc) you're about $330 (although our Hotwire Coupon takes $10 off so really about $320) and worth extending your budget, imo, for this truly 5 star hotel

Searching 2rooms/4adults:

4* HOTWIRE Center Strip - High Roller Promenade for $29
Pet friendly
Boutique hotel
Casino
Fitness center
Pool(s)
Restaurant(s)
Business center
Internet access
Spa services
==> The Linq which comes to about $301 all-in (including resort fee for both rooms)

You could also do 1room/4adults at the Linq for about $250, but if you don't typically (or ever) get to stay at a 5 star hotel i would spend the extra money for the Palazzo.  Not only do you get to experience a 'true' 5 star hotel, but the rooms here are oversized which be much more comfortable for 4guests vs. a 'standard' hotel room.

Your thoughts on the above?

EDIT TO ADD: we will keep all posts for this trip in this thread.  If you ultimately use PRICELINE (which i don't recommend for your situation based upon the occupancy issue i mentioned above) we can move the entire thread to that section of the board.

Sorry about that, I just double checked the dates and i was searching March 15-17.... now i see that it's May and these are weekend dates budget will be more difficult.

Give me 5-10 minutes to search for the new (correct) dates and i'll reply to this thread.

So searching for MAY 15-17 is going to be a bit more troublesome due to your weekend dates.

Searching for 1room/4adults on HOTWIRE the least expensive 4 star hotel is Tropicana at $153/nite (before taxes/fees) so you can figure that is going to be closer to $200 all-in.  So something is going to have to 'give'... either star rating, location, or budget.

Dropping to 3*/3.5* doesn't really help much as most hotels on the strip are 4 star or higher (i did have a look and dropping star rating doesn't really help you much).

Usually there is some 'outlier' that offers a pretty good deal and just not seeing it for these dates, so i dug a little deeper and i see that there is a 37K person convention that starts on May 17... most attendees will arrive (at least) the nite before and that is probably contributing to the high rates we're seeing for your dates.

I assume you're locked into these nites, and if it's possible to reschedule would any Sun-Thur nites be an option, as will likely save you at least half.

PS- and i apoligize again if i got your hopes up on the earlier dates when i was accidentally searching for March
