1) as previously requested, it would be appreciated if you started to share your wins/purchases with the board so that others can benefit from the information, just as you hope to benefit from those who have posted before you.  To only come here to ask questions and not share your wins/experiences makes the board less useful for everyone as well as goes against the 'spirit of the community'.

2) in regards to your question above, it is industry practice for a hotel to put a 'hold' on your credit card.  It is up to each hotel to determine the amount they will put on hold, and $100 is certainly within 'industry standards'.  The amount put on hold has nothing to do with how you booked, the star rating of the hotel, or the amount paid... hotels indicate that this is to cover incidentals, which it is, but it is also to cover themselves in the event of any theft or damage to the room.

Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
