shaqten
Do you reckon this is a good choice? Is the area OK at night? Is it close to subway, for getting in and out oh Manhattan? Thanks for the help! Link to comment
thereuare
Whether or not this is a good choice depends upon your budget... if your looking to spend under $100/ntie for a hotel for this stay then this is really you're only choice. If you're budget is flexible and you're willing to stretch to the $125-$150 area it opens up a LOT more hotels, including 4.5* properties that are centrally located in Manhattan. The area around Long Island City is still going thru a transformation, it is still somewhat industrial, but there are an increasing number of cafes/shops opening up to serve the community as high-rises are going up like weeds (many are still in the building process, but new businesses are already beginning to open in anticipation of the incoming residents). As a side note, this area is where Amazon recently announced to build HQ2 (their second headquarters) but then pulled-out, so it will be interesting to see if the supply outstrips the demand over the long term (unless NYC can seem to bring in another large corporation). Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you take the offer above) and we'll take it from there.
