Lorraine
I saw another post with a link that is still active for the Palazzo from 3/14-3/18 (4 nights). The rate is $229 through Priceline. When I adjust the dates to 3 nights (3/14-3/17) it jumps up over $100 per night. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! I'm guessing that the original link that you were clicking was posted weeks/months ago, and the rate (even for those 4 nites) is no longer available. Regardless, you can't just change the dates for a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal and see rates for the same property that was being offered. Regardless, Can you provide a link to the thread with the link that you're clicking and trying to change the dates of? (we can then respond to the issue with a bit more clarity rather than speculate what might be the happening). Lastly, assuming that the previous rate you saw for the Palazzo is no longer available, what is it that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip and what is your maximum budget? Are you only looking for the Palazzo or open to other hotels? Does it have a to be in this zone? Have to be 5 stars? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know the information above and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Lorraine
Thanks for walking me through my first post! The link still seems to be active but I can’t figure out how to change the dates. It’s within the same date range, just a shorter trip. I would like like to stay at Palazzo. We are needing to go somewhat last minute and our 10 year wedding anniversary will be during that time and we got married at the Palazzo. Thanks for your help!! Link to comment
thereuare
Thank you for the additional information, that sheds a bit more light on things. The link in your post above (for the 4 nite stay) shows a rate of $198/nite for the 4 nite stay... your 3 nite stay (use THIS LINK and confirm your dates on the landing page) is priced at $238/nite 10 hours ago, Lorraine said: it jumps up over $100 per night So yes, the rate does go up, but it's not anywhere near an increase of $100/nite. Hopefully the explanation below explains the rate increase in a manner that makes sense to you... I'm seeing the follow 'regular retail' rates at the Palazzo (click the link next to each link to confirm) for the following dates: 3/15 $559/nite 3/16 $171/nite 3/17 $100/nite 3/18 $100/nite Averaging the above for different 3 nite and 4 nite stays: 3/15-3/19: $232/nite 3/15-3/18: $277/nite ==> the 4 nite stay is cheaper on a per nite basis because you're able to spread the most expensive nite (3/15 at $550+) over 3 additional less expensive nites; your 3 nite stay is only able to spread that expensive nite over 2 additional nites So the take-away: If your dates are fixed at 3/15-3/18 you can book the following: 5 star The Strip - Northeast Area for $233/nite (<-- click here and confirm your dates on the landing page) Free Parking Airport Shuttle Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Pets Allowed Restaurant Swimming Pool ==> best guess for this would be The Palazzo If your dates are somewhat flexible, forgo the first nite (either making this a 2 nite stay or add an extra nite to the end of your trip): For 3/16-3/18: 5* The Strip - Northeast (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $122/nite with: Free Parking Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino ==> believed to be the Palazzo OR 3/16-3/19: 5 star The Strip - Northeast Area for $112/nite Free Parking Airport Shuttle Casino Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Pets Allowed Restaurant Swimming Pool ==> The Palazzo is my best guess here as well So, you can see how removing (or adding) even just one nite can have a big effect on the daily rate. Lorraine
Thank you! We are needing to check in 3/14 and check out 3/17. Can you please send me another link with those dates. I’m only seeing much higher prices so I must be missing something. Link to comment
AaronJB
Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the Palazzo for 3/14-17, but am seeing on PRICELINE EXPRESS (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing on the detail page after clicking the link below.) 5* The Strip - Northeast (<<<---CLICK HERE to go direct to the listing) for $343 Free Parking Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor Swimming Pool Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino >>>Best guess would be the Venetian The reason why you are seeing higher prices when searching for 3/14-17 is because there must be an event going on (March Madness?) in Vegas during that period. When you search for 3/17 separately, you'll see rates that are substantially lower. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Is there any flexibility in terms of dates? Let us know what you decide or if we can be of any further assistance. Lorraine
Thanks Aaron. I would like to stay under $300 but would ideal to stay in a 5* hotel. I saw one for $192 and can't figure out if it is the Wynn, my concern would be that it is the Trump hotel. Do you know of other 5*'s? We are going for a wedding and business so are firm with the dates of checking on 3/14, and checking out on the 17th. Thanks! Link to comment

Lorraine
Thanks, I'll have to think about which one is best. It's frustrating that we are paying a premium for these dates. Link to comment
