I had a look and for this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer:

3.5* Phoenix Downtown (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $142/nite with:
Pets Allowed
Restaurant
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Fitness Center
==> Wyndham Garden Phoenix Midtown is my best guess for this one

Thank you!  I'm glad I asked before I booked it.  If it is indeed the WGPM, it's farther from downtown than I'd like to be, and (perhaps more importantly) it has some pretty bad reviews on TA.  Thanks again for your feedback.  I'll keep looking.  You can close this thread.

Please conclude this thread with whatever you ultimately decide to do for this nite (even if not PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, you cancel the trip, stay on a friend's couch, etc)

You could use MAPS and HOTELS.com to get an excellent overview of what hotels (and prices) are nearby the exact location you ideally want to be.

What location is it that you are seeking and what is your maximum budget (per nite before fees/taxes)... keeping in mind that rates look somewhat high for these dates (start of Spring Training i assume?)

Just a heads up. It's Spring training for baseball in all of AZ right now which means hotels are pretty much booked solid through the first week of April. I get the Marriott employee rate and that's not even available for most of AZ during the winter. Your best bet is an apartment rental right now. Safe travels.
