Racktravel
Hello, I am looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel on the strip for July 31-August 6 and this would be my first time using priceline (or hotwire) and I want to see what kind of recommendations I can get from the experts. I have been checking out the Express Deals and I see one saying: 5 Star Casino Hotel----$133/night 37% discount from 207 The Strip - Northeast Rated 9.0+ Outdoor Swimming Pool Free Parking Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino I copied the above info from biddinghelper.com by the way.. I took the "Total due at hotel" amount (presumably the resort fees of $270) and divided it by the 6 nights and it came out to an even $45/night. Looking through the Interactive Hotel List for this zone, the only 5 star hotel with a $45 resort fee is the Venetian. With that said, I do not know how up to date that list is, or if this is good information to pay attention to or if it could be misleading. I'd love to hear your thoughts on if I'm correct in thinking it's the Venetian; if that price would be considered excellent for the Venetian and further any other recommendations or hotels to check out on the strip at that 4/5 star range would be greatly appreciated! thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! For this offer: 5* The Strip - Northeast (<-- CLICK HERE and confirm your dates on the landing page) for $133/nite with: Outdoor Swimming Pool Free Parking Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino ==> Palazzo would be my best guess for this one... can't really go wrong with any of the 5 star casino hotels in this zone, imo Although i do love the Palazzo i'll also just list another 5 star property at the same price point: 5* HOTWIRE Center Strip - Fountains for $130.00 Resort Pet Friendly Casino Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> best guess here would be the Bellagio. I have stayed at the Palazzo more than the Bellagio, but have enjoyed my stays here as well (although i did get fountain view rooms each time which added to the experience) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Racktravel
Thank you very much for the response and the information. I will be sure to follow up on this post later on when I make a decision! Link to comment
thereuare
Keep in mind that either (or both) of these offers could disappear at any time. Although you are traveling to Vegas during the summer which is low-season, PRICELINE / HOTWIRE offers and inventory don't necessarily stick around like 'regular retail' hotel rates do. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Let us know what you ultimately decide or how we can be of further help. Racktravel
One question for you because I'm trying to understand this process. So looking at Priceline there's a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $143/night for a 5 star casino hotel on my dates in the Central West zone...looking at the map there's only the Bellagio and Caesars palace (4.5 star hotel)...doesn't that make it an absolute guarantee that the advertised deal is for the Bellagio? What possible outcome could be different? Am I missing something? Link to comment
thereuare
There are/could be more 5 star hotels in this zone than just the Bellagio... Nobu at Caesars would be at least one example. Racktravel
Like I said I'm trying to learn from you and when I looked at the zone map it only shows those 2 hotels that I mentioned were the only ones in that zone and it seemed too easy to be true. It seemed like it had to be a shoe-in for the Bellagio and that's why I had to ask about it...not because my heart is set on it. Still trying to make It all make sense! Link to comment
thereuare
So your theory is correct, and in some areas it can be easier to apply than others, but as in the example above there are usually/often hotels that you may not have considered, thought of, or known about... in addition to needing to pay particular attention to the zone boundaries (which can, and do, often have slight changes to them and put hotels that were previously outside of the zone now inside the zone). Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. AaronJB
Also, the inventory for the retail and discount sides of the service can definitely differ, so you may not see a hotel on the retail side then have it be a win on the discount side. We're happy to help; definitely let us know if you are looking for something in particular (amenity, style, etc) and we can then take all those things into account when we research so we can offer suggestions tailored more towards what you're looking for. I will say that the Palazzo PRICELINE EXPRESS deal (plus the 5% promotion in my signature) is a very good deal (I'm seeing $212 regular rate) and - as thereuare noted - deals on the discount services can change at any time. Thanks for keeping us updated on what you decide and please let us know if we can be of any further assistance/you have any additional questions before booking.
